The event, attended by industry leaders, senior officials from Government of India, and media representatives, set the tone for the upcoming Regional Conferences to be held across Gujarat.

Extending his greetings to the dignitaries and participants, the chief minister expressed pride in presenting the vision behind VGRC.

He recounted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as chief minister of Gujarat, launched the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in 2003 with the idea of positioning Gujarat on the global industrial map. “Over the last 20 years, this summit has transformed Gujarat’s economic and social landscape,” Patel added.

Patel underlined that the VGRC initiative extends this success to every district and region, ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every corner of the state in line with the Prime Minister’s mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. “Some of our regions have such immense potential that their output surpasses that of entire states. VGRC will unlock these opportunities by connecting investors directly with regional ecosystems and enabling MSMEs and ancillary industries to grow together,” he said.

Announcing the schedule of the conferences which will be held next month in Gujarat, Patel said the first VGRC will be held in Mehsana on 9-10 October 2025, followed by events every quarter in Rajkot (Kutch-Saurashtra), Surat (South Gujarat), and Vadodara (Central Gujarat). These will be complemented by trade shows, exhibitions, and sectoral seminars to showcase regional products and promote international collaborations.

He concluded by reaffirming Gujarat’s commitment to aligning regional aspirations with national ambitions: “The theme of VGRC – Regional Aspirations, Global Ambitions – resonates with the Prime Minister’s call of Vocal for Local and Local for Global. This initiative will strengthen Atmanirbhar Bharat and contribute to the vision of Developed India @2047.”

Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India said DPIIT has been working diligently to shape policies, implement reforms, and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and for India to achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

He added, “The regional conferences will build upon the success and legacy of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summits and will serve as a platform to showcase regional strengths, catalyze ground-level development, and align local aspirations with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.”

There were ambassadors, high commissions and representatives of around 50 countries present at the interaction meet.

The event also featured addresses by Pankaj Joshi, Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat and P Swaroop, Industries Commissioner.

Mamta Verma, IAS, Principal Secretary (Industries and Mines Department), Government of Gujarat, gave a detailed presentation on Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences.
